Why You Should Read The Bible - Part 2

2. Read it because – GOD WANTS YOU TO

God has chosen the Bible as His primary method for communication with mankind…. more specifically, it’s His primary method to communicate with you!

God has things to say to you that will help you understand who He is, and His will for your life. When God wants you to do something, it is for your benefit. When God instructs you not to do something, it is for your benefit.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8 NIV)

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,  but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” Ps. 1:1-2

"Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God." - Romans 10:17

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

" Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." - Psalm 119:105

God wants you to know how to live a prosperous life. He knows of the pitfalls to avoid and the roads that lead to success, and His plan for your life is better than yours!

Once Pastor Nathan assembled an IKEA bed  (against my better judgment) without consulting the instruction booklet. I kid you not, it was days before the two of us were rudely awakened by a two foot fall of doom. Poor Nathan suffered far beyond the fall - but I don’t need to go into details.

 Lesson learned, read the instructions.

What do you do when you want to figure out how something works? You consult the manufacturer’s instruction booklet. God made you, read His instruction booklet.
