You Have A New Life
“I have come that they may have life
and have it to the full.”- John 10:10
Becoming a Christian means that you are now alive and able to experience the LIFE that God has always desired for you (Eph 2:1-5). A life that is free from shame, fear and hopelessness. This new life with God is filled with forgiveness, acceptance and belonging.
Jesus came from Heaven to Earth for a purpose! He came to repair a broken relationship between God and humanity. God originally created people to thrive in His goodness, but ever since the garden of Eden, people have turned away from trusting God and have chosen to live life according to what feels right to them. When we choose to reject God’s wisdom and live life our way, we are often left feeling broken, ashamed, and far from God. (This is just how Adam and Eve felt, and perhaps how you may have felt too.) A rich and satisfying life is found in genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. He didn’t JUST come so that we could live with Him in Heaven, He came so that in we could experience LIFE abundant right now, right here on Earth. Your abundant LIFE begins when you stop trying to do life your own way and choose to follow God’s way. Following God’s way is simple, just follow the teaching and instructions of Jesus and do what Jesus did. You don’t have to know everything right now, just follow His example. Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE (John 14:60) and you can only experience the real life God intended for you by repenting (changing your mind and turning around) and doing life God’s way instead of your own. When you allow God to be your guide, He will lead you to good places. In Psalms 23, we are told that God leads us to places of peace and satisfaction. THAT’S the good life, that’s the LIFE you’ve longed for and been created to enjoy.
Prayer: God forgive me for trying to live life on my terms. I confess that you know better than me, and I ask you for help to follow you into a deeper relationship with you, and a life overflowing with love, joy, peace, and rest for my soul.
