You Have A Purpose
“Faith comes from hearing, and hearing
through the word of God.” - Romans 10:17
Gospel means ‘GOOD NEWS’. The first four books of the Bible are referred to as ‘The Gospels’ because they each share the GOOD news of what happened when Jesus was alive on the earth. We read in the Gospels about God’s love and about His plan to rescue us from destruction. Every Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) tell about Jesus’ life from a different perspective. The Gospels are a great place to start reading your Bible, because it is the Good News that God wants you to know. These four books demonstrate God’s overwhelming and unending love for humanity.
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1John 4:9-10
Paul writes a letter to the church of Ephesians and he reminds them to remain rooted in God’s love. His prayer for them is that they would have the power to understand how vast God’s love is. How high reaching and far stretching. (Eph 3:18-19) It is a love that is impossible… it is unthinkable.. it is beyond human capacity! It is a love that is only possible with God’s supernatural power, and it is a force that we cannot help but be transformed by!
Have you ever heard the phrase, “hurt people, hurt people”? Perhaps you have, but even if you haven’t, that phrase does not pertain to you! A new phrase does; “Those who have been loved much, love much!”
You have freely received God’s love and acceptance, and now it is yours to share with those around you. Share the GOOD news about God’s love with someone today! This news is too good to keep to yourself, reach out and touch someone’s life today with the love of God! This is your purpose, to love and to love others, to know God and to make Him known.
Prayer - “God, thank you for sending Jesus so that I could have a deep and satisfying relationship with you! Help me to walk out my purpose to love others as you have loved me. Make me more like you, that I could love others without expecting anything in return. Amen”
